Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! Blue Mountain Financial Planning is a virtual firm and we utilize technology to work with clients near and far.

We are a fee-only firm. This means we are only paid from our clients for the services we provide. We don’t sell products and we never receive commissions. We don’t like hidden costs any more than you do!

We don’t have account minimums and we have two service options so that we can be more accessible. However, as a fiduciary we’ll be completely up front if we feel that our prices aren’t in your best interest.

We enjoy working with clients from many different walks of life. However, we won’t be the best fit if our investment philosophies aren’t aligned. We don’t time the markets. Also note that we take a comprehensive approach to financial planning and we don’t offer investment management without ongoing planning services. Lastly, we work best with clients who are open to utilizing our technology. We are a virtual firm and most of our operations take place online.

Of course. You are never locked in and can cancel at any time. We bill in arrears so we’ll send a prorated invoice for your final bill when services end.

Financial counseling focuses on educating, coaching, and counseling. We integrate this with financial planning so that we can provide a truly holistic approach to helping you succeed with your financial goals.

Client accounts that we manage are held at Charles Schwab. You will have an online portal and 24/7 access just like you would if your accounts were held elsewhere.
